Galbraith Holdings is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Sayer as its group chairman with effect from 22nd October 2002.
Richard Sayer, who retired as a partner of Ince & Co., Solicitors at the end of June this year, takes over from retiring chairman, Jon Deakin, who steps down having completed a successful term of office. Jon Deakin will continue to be closely associated with the company and will maintain his role as chairman of Global Freight Forwards, Ltd.
Richard Sayer has spent forty years as a leader in the field of maritime law and five years as senior partner of Ince & Co. He brings to Galbraith's a reputation in the international market place for his commercial approach and a proven ability to lead teams of people in today's competitive shipping environment.
"It is a big compliment," said Richard Sayer, "to be recognised outside one's immediate professional environment, particularly by a market leader such as Galbraith's. I have always enjoyed working with shipbrokers and I am delighted to have the opportunity to be closely involved in this very challenging market." Richard Sayer will be non-executive chairman at Galbraith's whilst maintaining his role as an active consultant at Ince & Co.
